Southern Industry Forum launch signals a new era of industry collaboration in Southern Sydney
Southern Sydney’s business, government and education leaders gathered at Kirrawee Library+ on 18 February 2026 for the official launch of the Southern Industry Forum (SIF), marking the next chapter in the evolution of the former ShireBiz network.
The event brought together local business owners, representatives from federal, state and local government, education leaders and industry stakeholders, united by a shared commitment to strengthening Southern Sydney’s voice and economic future.

For over a decade, ShireBiz had worked to connect local businesses, educators, and government with the shared goal of strengthening our regional economy. What began as a local initiative to foster collaboration within the Sutherland Shire has grown into something much broader, a genuine network of industry leaders committed to advancing the future of work, skills, and enterprise across our region.
