Welcome to the Southern Industry Forum
For over a decade, ShireBiz had worked to connect local businesses, educators, and government with the shared goal of strengthening our regional economy. What began as a local initiative to foster collaboration within the Sutherland Shire has grown into something much broader, a genuine network of industry leaders committed to advancing the future of work, skills, and enterprise across our region.
As our reach and focus evolved, it became clear that our name and structure needed to evolve too. Southern Industry Forum (SIF) reflects this next chapter: a unified platform designed to represent and support the diverse industries that make up our region.
The Forum model recognises that today’s challenges demand collaboration across sectors. By bringing business, government, and education together around shared priorities, SIF provides a stronger voice for our region and creates pathways for local capability to be recognised and supported.
While the name has changed, our purpose remains the same: to ensure our industries continue to thrive. Through roundtables, policy engagement, and strategic advocacy, we’ll keep working to position our region as a hub of talent, innovation, and opportunity.
The launch of the Southern Industry Forum marks more than just a rebrand, it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to industry-led collaboration. We look forward to working with our members, partners, and community as we move confidently into this new chapter.
